A looooong break.

Hi guys.    Sorry about the long absence.   Only minimal painting and gaming going on.    Due to some personal, financial, and health issues,  I've had to seriously curb activities.    Thankfully,  I'm still working when so many aren't.

I've developed adhesive capsulitis in my right shoulder  (a condition I'm just getting over in my left shoulder).    I can still work,  but anything else is too much.    I can only hold a paintbrush for about 5-10 minutes without exteeeeeeme discomfort.    Good news is,  it only lasts 2 to 5 YEARS! yay.

I do plan on gaming more.    I recently went to an big monthly gaming event at my FLGS.    I managed to get in a couple of board games along with a rousing game of Car Wars.   Got my ass kicked at all THREE,  but that's not really the point for me.    I had a blast.

'Til next time,    GO PAINT SOMETHING!

Wonderfest 2009

Hi Kids!!

It's been a few weeks since my last update, so I figure I'd catch you up.

I went to a local con weekend before last, Wonderfest 2009.  Not a gaming con, but more of a general sci fi, horror, movie, model building con.  Quite A few celebs in the mix, too.  Like Veronica and Angela Cartwright, among others.

I attended several how-to clinics from digital photography to kit-bashing (one had a couple of guys "Borg"ing a Barbie)!

Here's a link to an album of pics from the weekend.

No gaming (sigh), but plenty o' painting and building.  The very last Genestealer has been built and primed.  The same for my Gunfex.  Alas, the remainder of my winged Warriors still sit inna box waiting to be built.

A Reaper Executioner and an Angel of Mercy were advanced significantly (I never said I was fast!) in their overall scheme.

Once I get off my lazy behind and take some pictures, Ill post pics.  Let's see, I owe you...GZG New Israelis painted like the guys from Red vs Blue, Tyranids of all flavors and a few Reaper minis at various stages of paintage.

Til then,

Ni hespa go dith carad.

Terrain/Scenics Workshop

Here are a few pics from the terrain workshop at The Louisville Game Shop. We were working on some "orky" stuff for the upcoming Lucky 13's campaign. Some awesome looking stuff was made that day. Unfortunately, my camera's battery died before I could get photos of the works-in-progress. I will, however, post some pics when I make it back to the shop.
'Til then, go paint somethin'!

Busy, busy, busy.....

No gaming or painting this week. I've been getting ready for Thunder Over Louisville. Tommorrow's going to be a looooong day.
I did, however, pick up the small Hexagon Construction set by Pegasus Hobbies.

Gaming as of late.

Hello, faithful followers! No pics today. Just a little update.
I managed to get in a game 40k last Sunday. 1250 points of Tyranids v. Blood Angels, Annihilation with Dawn of War deployment. It was my first Annihilation game, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I ended up winning, but just barely. I parked a Broodlord and the last surviving genestealer in his retinue in a bunker. That move saved my bacon. All my opponent would had to have done was kill the 'stealer for a draw and the B'lord for a win. Rolling a lot of 6's didn't hurt either!

I've been trying to get in a game of Necromunda, but scheduling conflicts have prevented it. I don't have a standard Necromunda gang per se, it's actually a group of Ground Zero Games' New Israelis painted up like the guys from Red vs Blue (pictures to follow). I've never played Necromunda before, but it doesn't seem too dissimilar to 40k.

That's it for this episode, kids.

Slainte agus tainte!

Waiting for a digital camera

Hey folks!

Just thought I'd start with some pics of figs I painted about 4 years ago, most of which were traded for some Splintered Light Halflings. As soon as I have access to a digital camera, I'll post some more recent work!
